What is this workshop all about?
Join Joanna Susskind online for 3 hours to learn how to animate your life drawings. We’ll be broadcasting on Crowdcast, where you are not on screen (phew). Joanna will be on screen presenting for most of the session. For this workshop, as numbers are limited, we’ll also have an optional Zoom call on the side which you will all be welcome to join. We can’t wait to meet some of you in screen/person!
We thought long and hard about who we wanted to animate, and lucky for us, Sophie Harley, the loveliest, bendiest and best of all was keen to be our subject. Sophie has just spent 3 weeks at a circus school in Italy and she’s back home in the UK and ready to help us make our drawings come alive. You can check out Sophie’s previous modelling session with us right here: https://www.crowdcast.io/e/atyns-online-life-4
What do I need to be able to join?
All you have to do to participate is buy your online ticket, download a free stop-motion app on your smartphone, and bring along some basic drawing materials. Check out the animation check-list at the bottom of the page to make sure you have everything ready.
What will we be doing?
We will spend 2-3 hours online together, drawing and animating. At the end, you will have a short, animated life drawing of Sophie which you can share wherever you like. You’ll also have an insight in to how 2D animation works, and you’ll have learnt a lot about stop motion animation too. Beyond this workshop you could create a stop motion animation that doesn’t involve drawing at all. You could use regular old objects, plasticine or even people to animate for your next creation. We’ll talk a little about all that, but for this session, we’ll focus on bringing your drawings to life. Make sure your pencils are sharp!
Anything else?
This workshop is held online. It is open to anyone of any age and stage, anywhere in the world. The workshop costs £15 to join - there are discounts if you subscribe to ATYN on Patreon (patreon.com/alltheyoungnudes). Children are most welcome - as are complete beginners. You do NOT need to be good at drawing. Please note that our life model will be nude. If there are a couple of you participating from home, please consider donating a little extra towards our tutors and models. This isn’t essential - just give what you can. We really appreciate it, thanks. Joanna will be available to assist throughout the session. You will be able to ask questions and receive help whilst the workshop is in progress. If you are participating with 5 or more people, or would like to bring your class or group along, please get in touch to discuss a group booking discount. Joanna is available to teach private animation workshops on a 1-1 basis or for groups. Just get in touch and we can discuss your needs.
Still got questions?
Just drop Joanna an email (joanna@atyn.co.uk) and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can, thank you!
